Astrid Witt is originally from Aalborg in the northern part of Denmark. After graduating as an interpreter, she travelled to Spain to study the language then culture, and decided to stay for a longer period. The strong contrasts between sun and shade and the powerful Spanish characters and emotions, inspired her to start expressing herself

It all began about three years ago, when she met Spanish painter Fe Rodriguez and discovered the techniques of acrylic paint on canvas, which gradually lead her to developing her own style and technique. She now works primarily with acrylic paint on canvas or wooden boards creating a unique figurative world of strong colours and emotions. Astrid Witt currently lives and works primarily on the Costa del Sol in southern Spainwhere she is exclusively dedicated to painting in her studio close to Estepona. She recently exhibited three works in the selected exhibition for young artists at Aalborg Kunstpavillon in Denmark and has for a period of time been represented in The Dutch gallery Houses of Art in the Marbella Club Hotel in Spain.
